Wedding Planner Journal

I created this for the bride to be to be able to write down all her lists, keep track of important dates and appointments and organise the big day. There are plenty of pages to put swatches of fabric, images of cakes and table decorations, times to meet with the family and other wedding party members and dates to pick up dresses etc. I got a visual diary (pre bound and cut etc, but easily made with a Zutter or Cinch if you like) I created the dividers with spellbinder nested hearts dies and cut out a whole lot. I then added black kindyglitz to the edges and pasted them to the sides of the pages to make file dividers.

I then cut several different sizes of the hearts for the cover out of fun foam and heated it and pressed in several cuttlebug images. I then added a handmade rose (using Tim Holtz technique to make roses) using the Cricut Wildcard Cartridge to make the initial flower. I added a swirl of diamante bling and some kindyglitz and shaved crystals. I tied organza and satin ribbon on the spine and inside I added some stamping and rubons in a love related theme.

Thanks for looking!

12" x 12" scrapbook paper books with pockets

These are so much fun to make, you take a 12x12" sheet of paper and fold it in half then in half again. I used white paper and then bind them together with two 6x6" chipboard covers that you have decorated as desired.

To create the stunning red butterfly book, I used the fabulous Mariposa DCWV cardstock for embellishing the covers and adding accents to the pages. I used Stampin Up ink in ruby red, rose red and pumpkin pie to add colour and stamp the hero arts butterflies. I also used versamark clear and clear embossing powder to create the gloss finish on the cover.

The blue and green creation was a class I attended. This used the Stampin Up range of papers and colours. The predominant colours were Night of Navy and Kiwi Kiss. The Urban Series of paper was used for the embellishments.

Both books were bound using a Zutter Bind-It-All.

Hope you enjoy!

Recipe Books

I have started preparing for Christmas early. I used the DCWV paper stack, Nana's Kitchen as inspiration for these recipe books. I have completed two so far and have two nearly done. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads to co-ordinate with the cardstock and the colours were Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint and Victorian Velvet. I added Kaiser diamantes and a gorgeous little paper rose. I bound the book with a Zutter Bind-it-all and used Derivan Kindy Glitz to highlight certain aspects of the design. The inside covers were painted with Folk Art metallic paint in light blue and I fussy cut images from one of the DCWV papers. I also used the Fiskars scallop punch for the edges.

I computer printed the recipe cards and created the file in word to fit my cards. I used my Cricut to cut out the cupcakes and created two different ones, one from Home Decor and one cupcake from Wild Card. I inked them and added "sugar" crystals to decorate the 'icing'. I fussy cut some leaves from the Stampin Up roller which I inked in Stampin Up Certainly Celery. I added some Kaiser paper flowers and more bling.

Hope you like them. Have a wonderful day.

My first book making exercise - my introduction to the love of paper

I made this book with a wonderful, absolutely creative individual who kindly showed me how to make handmade books. This was my first attempt and since then I have made quite a few and they have served as travel journal gifts, baby book gifts, wedding memento gifts, dream journals, journals, photo memory books, and works of art...

Since making this book and encorporating the butterfly from a paper napkin, I have been hooked on using paper napkins. I love how the image can be transferred to scrapbooks, cards, books, fabric and so much more.

Pink butterfly book

This is a cute little book that has hidden folds and flaps and I used one of my favourite stamp sets for this book. It is one of the old hero arts poetic prints sets of naturals and has four 2"x 2" butterfly prints. I cut the trellis using Cricut Storybook after inking and stamping white card. I used the fiskers eyelet/scallop punch and created the laced page with a Cuttlebug Tag Team butterfly trapped by this. I added rhinestones, kindy glitz and paper flowers as shown and bound it using the Zutter Bind-it-all.

Tabletop book

This book is a great piece for a coffee table and too keep memorablia and keepsakes in. It is a similar concept to the black and metallic book I posted a while ago. I used fun foam and cut images out using my spellbinder dies. I embossed the fun foam by heating with a heat tool and then pressing them into embossing folders. I then painted the embossed forms with metallic paint and spritz them with a combination of pearlex powder, opalites and re-inkers. A little kindy glitz, some paper images and silk flowers complete the cover.

The interior pages are pockets and pages that have been embossed and inked. I have added rhinestones, ribbon, kindy glitz, flowers and die cuts as shown.

Hope you like it.

Another stunning book I started in a class

I made the cover in class for this stunning book. Wendy again inspired me and taught this amazing book cover. She did some pages, but the page colours did not appeal to me and I envisioned them for making another stunning project. I will post these when I finish this project. It is in a pack waiting for me to play with it. You will see my inspiration for my pages and how I changed them to match my colour selection and tie in with the cover.
I love the Prima Rose on the cover. The details are stunning. I used metallic powders and inks throughout the project, but the photo's do not pick up these details as the book really shimmers. I used a 12 x 12 sheet of DCWV card and cut this up and used the images to make the image really stunning. I used spellbinder and quickutz dies to cut the vines and embellishments.

I loved this project and think the book is stunning.

Gorgeous recipe book I made at a class

Thanks so much to Wendy who taught this fabulous class. I love my recipe book. It is with the Stampin Up Cottage Paper pack and using the Stampin Up recipe index card as well as the matching inks in Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry. Add some Cricut cut words in Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and some flowers and you have a stunning recipe book. Each card pulls out of a pocket.

I have a couple more projects to upload for May, so keep watching....

Fabric diary/journal covers

Every week I meet up with a wonderful group of women who keep me inspired to continue creating. Each week we have a different project and everyone contributes. It is a fabulous melting pot. Each of us has a very distinct artistic style and the group dynamic means we each grow, learn and challenge our ideas and methods.

One project we had great fun with was creating a custom journal cover. Bought diaries and journals are very plain and uninspiring.

A wonderful friend made me a diary cover and I love it. It is absolutely stunning and a great reminder of this amazing person when I open my diary and and see the gorgeous cover.

She kindly showed us how to make the covers and I made a visual diary cover. In this wee journal, I write my ideas for scrapbook pages, invitations, cards, techniques, quilt ideas and so much more, and it is housed beautifully below the stunning cover.
